In this post, I’ll be sharing with you an exciting story of Madisyn Babcock who’s a high school student suffering from Alopecia, and how she was able to make a positive outcome of her condition.
I understand that this is outside the type of post we’ve been publishing her over the past one year, but I found it interesting, and I might be sharing more of such posts here from now on. So, expect more.
When life punches you, the best thing that can happen to you at that very moment is to have a positive mindset and the undying support of your loved ones. This alone will always help you to stand on your feet irrespective of the challenges.
This is precisely what happened to this 17 years old high school student “Madisyn Babcock” who is living with Alopecia. In case you don’t know, Alopecia is a disease that causes hair loss, and it happens to most people – both old and young.
When Madisyn Babcocks’ senior photoshoot was just around the corner, she and her mom came up with a brilliant idea that would significantly improve her confidence.
Accepting her natural beauty and raising awareness for her condition, Madisyn suggested to her mother to cover her head with paintings of beautiful flowers. In her interview with A Plus, Madisyn stated that “her mother has always been an inspiring artist.”
“And as someone who always inspires me to be my true self and loves flowers, I knew for certain that she was the right person to paint my head.”
However, this wasn’t the first time Madisyn stood in front of a local photographer “Chelsea Taylor’s” lens. “Madisyn has had a very positive attitude about her hair loss from day one, and has used this as a good opportunity to show other girls how to embrace whatever condition they found themselves, love themselves and own their beauty – even if it’s not conventional,” said Taylor.
“Madisyn Babcock’s mom spent countless hours crafting the design and painting it in the early morning of her photoshoot. The result was strikingly beautiful, and her images are a direct reflection of her spirit!”
In Madisyns’ voice, “I choose flowers because they fit me as a person.”
She further stated: “I feel I’ve really developed into the person I’m supposed to be.” She equally said that her mom didn’t just apply the paint. “It connotes every single moment we have gone through in the process of high school. Right now, I have a new perspective on life than I did when I started high school, and at that moment I think we both saw growth in ourselves.”

Instead of hiding it and being ashamed of herself, she decided to embrace it for her photoshoot
The Madisyn Babcock and her mom came up with an awesome idea:
She suggested to her mother to cover her head with paintings of beautiful flowers:
“My mother’s always been a great artist. As someone who loves flowers and always advised me to be my true self, I knew my mother was the right person to paint my head”
“It signified all the moment we’ve gone through on the high school process”
“I have a new perspective on life than I did when I started high school, and at that moment I think we both saw tremendous growth in ourselves”
What have you learned from this story? Well, it’s a good indication that you can turn every condition around for good. Although there are specific steps to treat hair loss, you first have to accept yourself as you are before looking for remedies.
